Our Review of Lima Dance Academy

Our daughter started at Lima Dance Academy when she was four or five and she's loved every minute of it. The academy is tucked away in the Nueva Campana industrial estate in Nueva Andalucía — not the most glamorous location, but once you step inside it's a proper professional setup. Four big studios, over 600 square metres of space, and a comfortable lounge area where parents can wait with a coffee while the kids are in class.

The instructors are brilliant — really friendly and encouraging, which makes all the difference when little ones are just starting out. They offer everything from ballet and jazz to hip hop, contemporary, acro dance and acro tricks, so there's something for every kid regardless of whether they want to pirouette or breakdance. Classes run from age 3 upwards right through to teenagers.

The end-of-year recital is a real highlight. Our daughter absolutely loved performing and it was genuinely fun to watch — you could see how much the kids had progressed. They also run dance camps during half-term and Easter breaks, which are a lifesaver when you need to keep the kids entertained during school holidays.

The only thing to bear in mind is that the location isn't walkable from most residential areas — you'll need to drive. But honestly, for the quality of teaching and how happy our daughter is there, it's well worth the trip.
