Our Review of Playa Nini Beach Restaurant

Playa Nini sits right on the San Pedro beach promenade and it's one of those spots where the location alone makes it worth a visit. The restaurant has a lovely bohemian beach feel — thatched roof, wooden furniture, palms all around — and you're eating just metres from the sand. The real bonus for families is the kids' playground on the beach directly in front, so the children can play while you finish your meal in peace.

The menu is broader than your typical chiringuito. They do Mediterranean and Japanese fusion, so alongside the seafood and paellas you'll find sushi, nigiri, gyozas and poke bowls. The food is good — the sushi is genuinely well done and the seafood dishes are fresh. There's enough variety that everyone in the family can find something they like, and kids seem to go for the carbonara and simpler pasta dishes.

The staff are friendly and welcoming with children, which makes a difference when you're trying to have a relaxed meal. It's been going for over 20 years in various forms and you can tell they know what they're doing.

💡 Tip

They're closed on Tuesdays, so plan accordingly. Summer hours run until midnight but winter they close at 22:30. The promenade has parking nearby but it fills up on weekends — arrive early or walk along the paseo if you're staying in San Pedro. You can book a table through their website.

Prices are a step up from a basic chiringuito — expect €€ territory — but the setting and food quality justify it. A lovely spot for a long family lunch by the beach.
