Our Review of Prova Pizzeria

Prova became our go-to Friday pizza night spot and we lost count of how many times we went back. It's on Avenida Salamanca in San Pedro, a small, modern-looking place with a proper wood-fired oven that you can see from the street through the big front window. The pizzas are the real deal — authentic Neapolitan style with that perfectly charred, pillowy dough that you'd expect in Naples, not on the Costa del Sol.

The staff are Italian and genuinely friendly, which adds to the whole experience. They remember regulars and make you feel welcome even when you turn up with restless kids on a Friday evening. The menu covers all the classic pizzas plus some good antipasti and pasta options, so there's plenty to choose from if someone in the family isn't in a pizza mood.

It's a relaxed, unfussy place — not trying too hard, just doing really good pizza. The kids always demolished theirs, and honestly so did we. There's outdoor seating too, which is nice in the warmer months when you want to sit out and let the evening stretch a bit.

💡 Tip

They're closed on Wednesdays, so don't get caught out. It can get busy on weekend evenings — arriving closer to 1pm for lunch or before 8pm for dinner gives you the best chance of getting a table without waiting. Street parking is available along Avenida Salamanca.

The only minor thing is that portions are generous so you probably won't need starters and mains — a pizza each is plenty. Save room for the tiramisu if you can.
